The color associated with the SOUTH  is red. Lynx is a powerful medicine and tells one to be aware and alert–to use inner guidance and intuition. Lynx gets it on many levels. Nothing can be hidden for long from Lynx—Lynx is a living lie detector. Let Lynx remind you of your own hidden lost treasures that are still within your grasp. Card Number 39, Swan—Grace. North is the place of spirit and wisdom on the sacred wheel of life. Look NORH for problem-solving.  It is the place where our wise elders and knowledge keepers stand. The NORTH color is white. NORTH season is wintertime. NORTH element is fire. NORTH is the place of the mind. NORTH is mental. The intellect is said to be cold and cutting.  NORTH is a very powerful direction.

Swan Medicine has glided into our Medicine Card reading and perhaps now is the time to surrender to the becoming of your true self. Nothing is too awkward or frustrating. Nothing has happened that is too great for Grace to hold. Reality arises from what you are capable of expecting. Your expectations are often determined by what you have experienced in your life. SOUTH Card Number 38. Frog—Cleansing. The season of the SOUTH is summer. The element of SOUTH is water. The color of the South is red. The time of SOUTH is noontime. There is a good deal of lunar energy in the SOUTH. SOUTH on the sacred medicine wheel signifies substance. SOUTH is often said to be the place of your spirit helpers—the little people. The animal spirits are also said to dwell in the SOUTH. Frog is well-known for their serenades, songs sung on a riverbank or near a lake shore. Male frogs sing by pulsing air from their lungs over their vocal cords and into vocal sacs, thus amplifying their song. These Frog bellows are often called songs and are used to attract mates, but can also be used to mark territory. The various frog species have unique calls. Frog medicine has close ties with powerful water energies. Frog is a most healing medicine and can help you greatly with emotional difficulties. Water is essential to life.  Water Cleanses the body, mind, and spirit. Frog in the SOUTH Is telling you to be close to water if possible. Be like water and flow like water. Rub and scrub, and release all the blockages to good health and well-being. Let water energy heal and Cleanse you. Make sure you are consuming a good amount of water each day and staying hydrated. Turtles are built to last, some living a hundred and fifty years of age. Turtles are inspiring. Turtle medicine protects you from many dangers.  They often go inside their secure shell and stay there a while before they stick their necks out again. Trust in Turtle medicine. Be strong, slow, and steady like a Turtle while getting your jobs done. Turtle teaches harmony with your surroundings. Turtle teaches grounding and being close to Mother Earth. NORTH Card Number 19. Buffalo—Prayer and Abundance. The NORTH is said to be spiritual and nonmaterialistic. NORTH direction on the sacred medicine wheel is the place of our precious elders and their wisdom teachings. The color representing NORTH is white. The element of NORTH is air. The season of NORTH is the cold wintertime. The time of NORTH is midnight. The element of the NORTH is air. The NORTH is mental—using your intellect. NORTH offers a good opportunity to analyze any problems or difficulties you may be having and find the best solutions for solving them. One medicine of Buffalo is gratitude for the many gifts one has been given. Buffalo’s energy is in close alignment with the giveaway. Buffalo tells you to be thankful and pray often. Begin and end each day with a little prayer. With Buffalo showing up in September, Abundance is not far away. More likely than not, some form of Abundance has already arrived. You may discover inner treasure and inner strength. Buffalo reminds one to send Prayers on the wind to wherever they need to go. In other words, pray for others. It is a time of learning to express yourself and learning how to get along with others. It is a time of passionate involvement in the world, learning to care, and learning how to express your feelings of joy and sadness–learning various ways to manage anger or feelings of injustice. It is a time of growth and development. Hawk in the SOUTH is telling you that you may have overlooked an important Message. Elders have a deep understanding of life and often know how to amicably solve problems. They say that all of us are connected to the source of life directly and individually.  Ant is a good omen, and denotes some body of work that needs to be done. Ant in the North, in wisdom, tells us to get to work. Don’t wait. Hit it. Ant gets in fast and is in it for the long haul. So should you be in 2025. There are very few problems that can’t be fixed if you throw in Ant’s medicine of work and the Patience to follow through. Mouse plugs away doing those little annoying jobs one needs to do, getting them done efficiently. Mouse gives their complete attention to their work. Mouse is continuously learning. They say that Mouse touches everything with its whiskers and is keenly focused. Chiefs have said that Mouse medicine is the medicine of civilization. Mouse symbolizes resourcefulness and survival. Fox may be telling you to become much more aware of what is happening in the everyday world around you.  Fox may signal unbelievable good luck and fortuitous synchronicities. Fox is an animal of mystery and magic. Be wise and sly like Fox. Fox showing up in May may mean that you do not need to get anxious, and you are able to be observant and adapt to whatever conditions you encounter. Raven is on the wing and is coming in your direction in May. You are in luck. Raven is the archetypal bringer of Magic. Raven may bring you important messages from the void where Great Spirit lives. Perhaps Prairie Dog in April is telling us to cool off our hyper-attention to the difficult news of politics, economics, the harshness of the everyday world, and to take a much-needed break. Prairie Dogs are highly social. They often hug and kiss when meeting a friend. They have close-knit family groups. There is usually considerable activity around them. Prairie Dog could be telling us to retreat to the comfort and solace of family and good friends for a much-needed battery recharge. Blue Heron is telling you to reflect your heart in all your endeavors. Blue Heron is patient and wise and is good luck in most instances. Moose is a fighter, a great warrior who is mentally and physically tough.  Moose is mighty, courageous and fearless.  Moose is unique and is the largest member of the deer family. Moose is the second largest land animal on Turtle Island. Moose is also the tallest species of the deer family. The first largest of course is the Buffalo.

Welcome the day and the new light of day and begin your spiritual journey to the EAST. The Hopi are frequently called the people of peace. Yet they have a Badger Clan. Badger is sacred especially so to warriors. Badger is a powerful animal that lives underground. They have sharp claws and are expert at digging. Badger brings fierce protection and aggression when you most need it. Badger signifies a closeness to the earth and a deep healing. Badger is diligent, focused, and possesses a deep instinctive wisdom. When Badger appears you will want to push a little harder. You may need to make a plan and go for it in stages. Red may also signal danger, so watch out when you see red. Pay attention. You might need to get out of the way or away from something quickly. You might need to jump to safety like a Frog. Frogs have large eyes and excellent night vision. They see in the dark and even see colors. Those large eyes take in a lot of information. Frog may be heralding change. —a transition. NORTH represents the cold wintertime. The color that represents NORTH is white. The element of NORTH is air. There is a strong bond between the human and the Dog. Dog is a symbol of Loyalty. They are faithful guardians and guides. They served as guides for souls in the afterlife. Dog has a strong connection to the spirit world and can see deeply into humans.  Dog was a utilitarian creature in early Native America, a fierce protector of home, family, and possessions. Dogs smell trouble. Watchdogs alert people to danger—an important skill in early tribal society.  Dogs offer not simply Loyalty, but consistent affection and companionship. Dog is enthusiastic. Dogs are devoted and express their true and deep feelings. Dogs were essential in Native America—they were held in high esteem in ceremonies. They were used in the transport of goods. Native Americans used sleds to transport possessions across the icy landscape in winter. They still do in the far north when the weather makes automobile travel impossible.  A Dog has many virtues. Beaver happens to be the largest rodent in North America. Fully grown, they average around forty pounds and are three feet or more long. Beaver has sharp teeth and can easily cut down a tree—gnawing right through it. As most people know Beaver builds dams and they greatly modify their environment to their own specifications. Beaver have webbed feet and are aquatic. They have large flat tails and can use them to slap the water and warn other Beaver of danger.  Beaver has a can-do-get-it-done approach to life. They have a strong work ethic. Beavers are highly respected for their healing and other medicine powers. Native Americans often tell one not to interfere with Beaver because they know what they are doing. Beaver is telling you to let go of the past. Be cooperative with others. Get busy. Clean up the mess if necessary.  Use your Beaverlike ingenuity and make a difference where your surroundings and your family are concerned. Be like Beaver. Build a stronger and better life for all.

Welcome the day and the new light of day and begin your spiritual journey to the EAST—to enlightenment. EAST on the sacred indigenous medicine wheel signifies the beginning of a spiritual journey—your unique journey. EAST symbolizes rebirth and a mystical awakening. Raccoon, ”the grasper” is one of the best medicines to carry during these times. Raccoon is nocturnal and is often called “black mask,” considered a sort of Robin Hood who can outsmart anyone and pluck their goodies.  Some tribal people have called Raccoon the most “touchy-feely” of all animals. They have exceptional manual dexterity. Additionally, Raccoon has a great curiosity about everything in their immediate vicinity. You may need to protect your spiritual value system with Raccoon appearing in the EAST this January. You may even need to brush up on what your spiritual beliefs truly are.  Your integrity may be tested. Ask the Raccoon spirit to be your guide if this is the case. Weasels live underground and have a musky smell. They have long, graceful, and elegant bodies with short legs. They can get in and out of most spaces and entanglements other animals can’t, true escape artists. Weasel is busy but secretive. WEST element is earth and the color representing WEST is black. WEST is the adult stage of life and brings maturity. It highlights life’s values and morality. WEST teaches respect for elders and all people. Native people often call the highest power Great Mystery. Indeed, eternal and unknowable mystery surrounds us all. Prayers are said to Great Mystery. There was no preaching or proselyting. Your relationship with Mystery is your own business. The unknown is a mystery.
